required coordination with multiple agencies, including the
Environmental Protection Agency and state environmental
departments, to ensure compliance with waste handling and
disposal regulations.
Risk assessments determined personal protective equipment
levels and safety protocols for all personnel operating in these
high-hazard zones.
Operating Safely in a High-Stakes
Environment
What Resolve Marine is most proud of is that there were
zero recordable injuries requiring more than 昀椀rst aid despite
the operation involving over 150 personnel and numerous
risks. This was a signi昀椀cant achievement given the scale,
complexity and high-risk nature of the work.
FEATURES
Safety protocols were built into every stage of planning and
execution. Every team member, from salvage masters and
divers to logistics coordinators and barge operators, were
trained to identify hazards and respond proactively. This
culture of vigilance and care became a key contributor to the
success of the response.
Salvage Under the Spotlight
The scale of the operation required extensive resources drawn
from Resolve Marine’s network of 21 U.S.-based response
depots. Resolve Marine’s 400-ton crane, RMG 400 along with
additional tugs, barges, crane platforms, and specialized
personnel were mobilized. Four separate port facilities
were utilized to receive salvaged containers, while logistics
channels were established to process and dispose of debris.
All this occurred while Resolve Marine’s had concurrent
large-scale projects underway in Asia and South America,
