WHEN IN DOUBT –
STOP AND ASK
The Code offers guiding principles for how we conduct business – but it can’t
cover every situation. When you’re unsure, pause and ask before you act.
The Code should be your starting point, you are supported by the Club’s
internal directives and guidelines.
If you are in doubt about a decision or a situation, you should:
Check the Club’s internal directives and guidelines
Talk to your manager, or
Ask the relevant expert function – such as Compliance, Risk Management,
MarCom, HR, Corporate Legal or IT
Before acting on behalf of the Club, you should be able to answer “Yes”
to all of the following:
1. Is it in line with internal and external laws and regulations?
2. Is it the right thing to do from an ethical perspective?
3. Does it avoid reputational risk for the Club?
4. Can I confidently explain this decision to my manager,
the authorities, or the media?
